Driven to succeed from an early age, Evan Lykourinos’ first foray into property was diverted by an early entrepreneurial opportunity that saw him become CEO of his own logistics company. Returning to real estate in recent years, Evan has found the true meaning of business success…a role that lets him keep a close focus on his clients, his people and his business goals.
Having teamed up with Co-Director Paul Richards at a multi-office real estate network, Evan has no doubt about Bekdon Richards’s place in the world. “Paul and I are both clear that our business is to provide an accountable, transparent and, above all else, personalised real estate service,” he says. While he heads a personally recruited sales and property management team, there is no suggestion that Evan’s approach is ever anything but completely hands-on – with involvement in every step of the sale from open-for-inspections to the final hammer fall.
“The first test we apply to every listing is whether we would want our own home to be managed in that way,” he says. “It’s as simple as treating every client’s home as if it were our own. In particular, strategy is my strongpoint. It’s my job to ensure that a property’s unique selling proposition is clearly identified, that it is marketed to appropriate buyers, and that progress is reported back to the vendor.”
A strong proponent of achieving work/life balance, Evan says he gives 24-hour-a-day attention to being a husband and a father and a real estate agent. While that may call into question his arithmetic abilities, it leaves no doubt that work and family are equally important. There’s no better indication of this commitment than Evan’s contribution to his company name. Rather than choosing to use his surname, his title choice, Bekdon, is an anagram of the names of each member of his family!
