With a career built around prestigious employers and discerning clients, Tao Sheng’s focus has always been on quality, not quantity. Whether managing marketing and communications for luxury brands, (including a major airline and powerhouse fashion brands), selling to a high-net worth clientele, or helping investors build wealth through property, Tao’s background is broad as it is impressive.

Tao is quick to point out that his approach goes well beyond the transactional. “My client base, and my success, are grounded in relationships,“ he says. “My reputation is built on referral and repeat business. Clients recommend me and return to me across their lives because they know they will receive exceptional service and achieve a beyond-expectation result.”

From a sales and marketing position at a high-end real estate brand, to his vendor-focused role with Bekdon Richards, Tao understands the property market on both a macro and micro level. He has worked with a private investment company seeing through large-scale development in Melbourne’s south-east, and developed his own personal property interests - including capitalising on the ‘tree-change’ trend.

Tao takes a ‘full-service’ approach, working closely with vendors from the time they consider selling, to developing targeting marketing, to negotiating an exceptional selling price. “My aim is to help vendors achieve their individual goals, whether that’s around price, service, or an easy transition to their next property,” he says. “Excellent market knowledge and attention to detail are just the start. I connect the dots that make the transaction happen… and then think outside the box to get the deal done.”

At home in Australia since his secondary school years, Tao is a cultivated communicator in both English and Mandarin who completed a Bachelor of Commerce with a double major in Finance and Marketing at the University of Melbourne. Tao modestly puts his achievements in focus; saying his greatest pride is in the connections he has made along the way. “Longevity and loyalty are all important. My very first real estate listing was for a former marketing client I had known for over 10 years…and who continues to list with me.”
